It hangs from its original heavy split ring, made to sit on a pocket watch chain back when every league winner wore their prize across the waistcoat.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFob medals like this were the trophies of their day, cut and engraved for local football, cricket, and athletics leagues across England. This one makes a striking pendant now, with real heft at 9.5 grams and about 1¼ by 1 inch across. It comes with a cord necklace in the color of your choice.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFully hallmarked on the reverse: H.B for the Bourne workshop of Birmingham, the Birmingham anchor, the lion passant for sterling silver, and the date letter c for 1902. Also stamped Rd 289344, a British registered design number from 1896.
