Ancient Jewish Sterling Silver Shekel Pendant from the First Revolt

$185.00
This is my first selfmade piece. I wanted something beyond the usual star or chai to wear and highlight the long and inspiring history of the Jewish people.

It is a copy of an ancient shekel from the period of the First Jewish Revolt. Jewish leaders of the revolt minted their own coins to emphasize their newly obtained independence from Rome. From 68ce:

Paleo-Hebrew alphabet. Obverse: "Shekel, Israel. Year 3". Reverse: "Jerusalem the Holy".

It has some serious heft to it and was made in sterling but can be dipped in 14k for an additional $100.
