Small in scale, exceptional in detail. This 14K yellow gold chai pendant was made in Israel and it shows — the craftsmanship packed into a piece under half an inch is genuinely impressive. The front presents the chai symbol in open cutwork, the Hebrew letters suspended within a granulated border of fine gold beadwork that frames the entire pendant. Turn it over and the back is equally considered: Hebrew prayer text fills the upper register above a second rendering of the chai in relief, all within the same meticulous granulated border.
Chai — the Hebrew word for life — is one of the most enduring symbols in Jewish tradition, numerically equivalent to 18 and worn as both a declaration of faith and an expression of joy. This pendant earns its place in that tradition not through size but through the quality of its making. The granulated beadwork border alone represents a level of hand finishing rarely seen at this scale. 14K yellow gold. Cutout chai front, Hebrew prayer text reverse. Approximately 0.5 inches. Under 1 gram. Hallmarked 14K. Origin: Israel. Estate excellent condition.
