In the late 1970s a New York jeweler named Charles Weinstein developed a technique for suspending diamonds inside clear lucite, creating the illusion that the stone floated in mid-air. This LOVE pendant uses that same shadow box principle: a clear lucite front panel sits over a rectangular 14K gold frame, with the gold LOVE letters and a single bezel-set diamond suspended inside the chamber behind the lucite. The diamond serves as the O. From the front it reads as a crisp graphic statement. From the side you can see the open gold framework holding everything together.
