Somewhere between a zodiac sign and a punchline sits this cow mermaid, a fully realized hybrid creature with a placid bovine face, cloven forelegs, and a scaled fish tail curling beneath her. She is signed on the reverse Far Fetched Sterling with a copyright mark, a modernist figural jewelry line that leaned hard into exactly this kind of visual pun, and dates to the 1990s.
The design is cut from a single sheet of sterling with openwork detailing along the tail scales and simple punched dots for the eyes and nostrils, a clean modernist approach to a genuinely silly concept executed with real technical polish. At 1 3/4 inches and 6 grams she wears light, more of a conversation starter than a statement piece by weight, but the design carries the impact.
There is no documented provenance beyond the maker's mark itself. Far Fetched pieces circulate in the vintage market without much written history attached, but the hallmark is clear and the sterling content is confirmed.
Condition: Excellent estate condition, hallmark clear and legible. Pin catch function not yet confirmed.
