Four-leaf clovers got their reputation for luck somewhere back in Celtic folklore, which Taxco silversmiths translated into sterling with their usual attention to how light moves across a surface. This one from the TC-63 workshop takes the recognizable shape and executes it with mirror polish across all four leaves. At 9 grams, there's enough metal here to create real dimension—each leaf curves independently, catching light from different angles depending on how you're standing.
The mirror finish shows its age through fine surface scratches concentrated on the high points where the piece made contact with other jewelry or fabric over the years. The recessed areas between leaves retain deeper patina, creating contrast that emphasizes the dimensional construction. TC-63 was one of Taxco's registered workshops, part of the system William Spratling established in the 1930s to document and regulate the silver trade that made the town famous.
