Vintage Brass Triceratops Dinosaur Brooch Pin Patinated Verdigris Prehistoric Scene Saturn Planet Figural

Somebody put a lot of thought into this brooch. A stocky triceratops dominates the rectangular brass panel, grazing against a background that includes a textured mountain range and, up in the corner, a ringed Saturn floating in the sky. The brass surface has developed a beautiful natural verdigris patination, the green oxidation that forms on brass and bronze over time, which pools in the recesses of the relief work and throws the raised details into sharp contrast against the warm gold ground. The back is clean polished brass with a simple pin mechanism. It is a prehistoric scene with a cosmic twist, and it is completely charming.
