Every link in this necklace is its own little seahorse, cast in sterling and inlaid with a sliver of natural malachite along the belly, so the whole thing reads like a school of them curling nose to tail around the neck. It is signed on the reverse of one link with "Mexico" and "925," along with a small workshop mark, the kind of piece that came out of the mid century Mexican silver boom when silversmiths were turning marine life into wearable sculpture.
At 16.5 inches and a substantial 90.64 grams, this sits with real weight and drape, not the thin stamped links you see on lighter costume versions. The malachite shows that natural banded green that varies slightly link to link, which is exactly what you want to see in genuine stone inlay rather than dyed glass standing in for it.
A serious statement necklace for anyone building an ocean or nautical collection, and an easy match for GOTTROCKS regulars already collecting our sea creature pieces.
Condition: Great estate condition. Clasp is secure and functions properly. No dents noted across the links. Malachite inlays intact with no visible chips.
